WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
Bring your baby (toddler, small person) to a pub quiz near you. You could bring grandparents or mates to help you overcome any blanks (obviously brought on by baby fog). Everyone involved understands and expects meltdowns, chatter and toddler distractions, unsurprisingly the pace is somewhat slower than the average quiz night. If you want to come on your own that’s absolutely fine too.
They take place around lunchtime, where a tasty menu is available which even includes vegan options. There are two breaks for general maintenance, chat and change. There is also a ‘mobile baby change’, so you don’t have to leave the quiz. High chairs are a given.
Please bring along a couple of toys to distract toddlers while you quiz.
There will be picture rounds, music and general knowledge. The prizes are for you, not the baby. Prosecco, wine and beauty boxes. Result.
Pubs are chosen because they are great. They also cover all areas of London from Catford to Crystal Palace, Wimbledon to Brockwell Park, there are also a couple of outliers in Bath and Brighton.

I have taken a star off for the venue as the Palm Court is not wheelchair accessible - indeed getting in to the hotel at all required a staff member going to get a ramp and us entering through the bar in a confined space. That aside, the experience was wonderful. Staff make a real effort to turn it into an experience describing the menu - both food and drinks - and making sure that a birthday among our party was acknowledged (pianist playing Happy Birthday and a special dessert), Special "Seaso...
We were four - Phoebe and Alison, who kind of knew their way around a dance-floor and Jack and myself. I'm not a fancer. I expected it to be painful. It wasn't. It was a lot to taie in but great fun and a terrific atmosphere.
Such a relax session with Claire who was amazing, patient and so helpful. Loved the evening.
The savouries were tasty and fresh, the scones were huge and very light, and the sweets were interesting.

We went to the cheese barge in August after I bought the experience for my husband’s birthday in March. To say it was brilliant is an under statement as it was way beyond brilliant. From the location to the cheese, wine plus the service and then the walk along the canal afterwards…well it was all so brilliant that it has now become a Christmas gift for another family member. A real twist on the ‘afternoon tea’ and just so enjoyable…and, oh, did I say the cheeses were pretty delicious too!
