High Chai: A vibrant fusion of British high tea and Indian flavours, offering a culinary adventure through chaat, nibbles, and sweet delights.
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
High Chai, the Indian version of a British high tea, as flavours of East Indian weave their way into our traditional tea time spread.
As the name suggests the decor is inspired by the colour and energy of a bazaar. For centuries these markets have been the place to buy, sell, exchange, entertain and be entertained. They are also the places to discover unusual spices and new flavours.
TELL ME MORE
Pot of tea for two? Well there’s Earl Grey or Assam, but why not try Jade Sword Green or White Peony? The in-house Indian Masala Chai is freshly brewed using ginger and cardamom.
The High Chai menu is divided into three. Start with a chaat, that’s a spicy snack, just enough to take the edge off your appetite before moving on to the ‘nibbles’. Marsala fish finger sandwich and Chicken spring roll.
Did we mention there’s a glass of Prosecco (or a mocktail) on the menu? This will make High Chai rather more of a celebration -and then of course there’s the sweet treats. Goan sawdust pudding, which, despite the name is rich and creamy with layers of cakey crumbs (hence the ‘sawdust’), toy with a saffron and pistachio macaron, and admire the Bebinca, another Goan delicacy.
So there you have it. A cup of delicious tea and treats, all you have to do is add the conversation.
Chat and chaats, a heavenly combo.
