Borough and London Bridge in London has had a bustling food hub since the 16th century. History with delicious tastings, guided by a local. Tales of ghost sightings to film locations.
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
This is still one of London’s most important food markets, and this food tour is designed to showcase the stories and the food. You will be feasting on some very delicious treats as you listen to tales from the Larder of London. Down narrow alleyways, through the market, and into the surrounding streets, there is a story to be told on every corner. Your guide will be a local steeped in every aspect of the market.
Borough was buzzing in the 16th and 17th centuries, and it's absolutely buzzing now. Back in the day, farmers would set up their stalls and drive their livestock through the space. It was absolute filth and total mayhem. The present buildings were constructed in 1850 by Henry Rose, an architect renowned for his churches, which explains the glorious ironwork construction.
