Grab your shotgun and step up to the mark, as you blast clay targets out of the sky and experience the thrill of the hunt, minus the pesky feather clean-up.
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
The real birds can take a back seat for this one. These targets are made of clay, and if you are a real novice they are disc shaped, not pigeon shaped, so don’t act surprised when you see the piles of clay saucers. The clays are launched into the sky from a ‘trap’, and you will need all your skill to hit one. The targets are designed to simulate birds in flight. It’s your task to shoot them down.
It is challenging. Hitting your clay requires skill and timing. Hand-eye coordination helps but everyone can compete on equal terms.
Polowood Shooting ground is based just outside Brighton, set in ten glorious acres of woodland on the South Downs.
Experienced instructors will take you through the moves to ensure you get the best out of the day. Your safety is paramount, so they will start off with a demonstration and also be on hand to offer guidance and advice throughout the session.
Shotguns, cartridges and safety equipment will all be provided. Everyone is welcome. If you’ve never shot before this is an ideal introduction, if you are an old hand try Polowood’s trickier targets.
This is one shooting experience that will make a pigeon - and you -very happy.
