WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

Piercing saw? Blow Torch? Hammer and Mandrel? What will you be learning in this workshop?  Answers on a postcard……

In fact, you will be making a silver ring.  Maybe you would like one to fit your thumb, a toe, or you want to hand stamp a design. Fingers forward as you start to get to grips with some rather exciting techniques - wax carving for example.

This is a two-hour class, led by an expert jeweller. The classes are kept small, max six people so there is lots of individual attention.  A glass of fizz helps you keep a steady hand and calm any hand tremors, or you are more than welcome to BYOB.

When you have completed your design on paper, you will move on to making the actual ring. It may look a bit blue at this stage of the process, but that’s only the colour of jewellery wax. Don’t panic. When the class is over, your bespoke creation will be taken to the workshop and cast in sterling silver ready to be posted out to you.  Note ‘post’.  You can’t wear it to the after-party, you have to delay gratification. All the more exciting when you unwrap the box.

If you fancy an upgrade to 18 cwt gold, you can, for a small additional charge.

These classes take place in either Brighton or Islington and are run by ‘Posh Totty’, a company who specialises in personalised jewellery, so hand-made, hand-drawn and hand-stamped is absolutely their area of expertise.

• Optional 18ct gold plating is available for an additional £10 charge and you can also hand-stamp your ring with your chosen personalisation and add precious stones at £35 each.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

All you have to do is pay for the gift experience you wish to purchase. We’ll send a voucher including booking information to you or directly to the recipient. You or your recipient needs to check the information on the voucher and book your experience date. We ask that the voucher is registered in 6 months and booked on a date within 12 months of purchase.
