Enjoy a glorious punting tour along the River Cherwell in Oxford
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
Head to the boathouse to meet up with your punt chauffeur. For the next half hour, you can dip your fingers into the water and marvel at the Botanic Gardens and Magdalen College School fields before punting along Christ Church Meadows. This is a peaceful space, home to a herd of pedigree Old English Longhorn cattle, and a wide biodiversity of species. Conservation is at the heart of the Meadow, and much has been done to restore the flood plain. Christ Church Meadow is also where Lewis Carroll was teaching students in the mid 19th Century, when he wrote the famous Alice Through the Looking Glass and Alice in Wonderland. Your punt tour will go past St Hilda's College gardens, before turning around and returning to the boathouse.
