IN BRIEF
1st Stop: Lift 109 at Battersea Power Station. A lift that that goes 109 meters up the iconic chimney
2nd Stop: Hop aboard a thrilled Rocket speedboat adventure that will take you past London landmarks
ABOUT LIFT109
Battersea Power Station is London’s newest cool shopping and eating destination. After decades of ‘stop/start’ on the rebuild project, the derelict grade 2 listing building was finally opened to the public last year. In 2014 the famous chimneys were dismantled and rebuilt to the precise specifications of the original. You would never have thought they could do it, let alone incorporate a lift into the north-west chimney. It is an epic experience.
Lift 109 takes you up and up and up, a whole 109 metres up with 360-degree views over the London skyline. Your Lift 109 journey begins in the magnificent Turbine Hall A, where you’ll discover more about the rich history of the Power Station. Aboard Lift 109, constellations of light guide will guide your way as you make the thrilling ascent of the north west chimney and from 109 metres at the top, you’ll take in a panoramic view like no other.
While you’re there look out for the Southbank and the London Eye as that’s where you are off to next.
YOUR SPEEDBOAT
Head over to the London Eye Pier where a Rocket speed boat will be waiting to welcome you on board. Take your snaps now, as it’s going to get rather speedy - 30 knots (that’s 35 mph for landlubbers) to be precise as you whizz under the London bridges and past landmarks in a fifty minute blast around the capital by water.
Sing along to music as you whoosh past Big Ben, twist and turn through docklands and blast your way to London Bridge. Hand picked guides provide witty and instructive banter as you speed past London landmarks. This is a boat trip that will change your perspective on the river.
If the weather looks a bit iffy, sailing coats/ponchos and goggles will be provided.
This is a full on day out in London. Appealing to both visitors and locals. The most adventurous of outings.
