WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

At the heart of a good punting experience are great stories. On this 45 minute punting experience not only will you enjoy extraordinary views of the colleges, but you will listen to stories that span the centuries. It is an intriguing and often very funny take on the history of Cambridge.

The original punts were used for transporting cargo around the Fens. Flat and square, they are ideally suited for the shallow water, but during the 20th century they started to take off as a leisure activity, and are now an iconic part of the university tradition. All your punting guides are local students, who are passionate about the city and its heritage. Ask many questions - and have a go at punting yourself - you only have to ask.

This is a history lesson with Cambridge as the backdrop. Blankets, brollies and cushions are all provided, and if you want to munch as you punt, refreshments are available for purchase at the punting station. This is a shared experience, with other like-minded souls.

If you don't feel like sharing, hire your own private punt. Your expert punt chauffeur will be all yours for 45 minutes. These punts seat up to 12, but really why not just luxuriate in the space, sip a glass of bubbly, and enjoy the view - alone or with a significant other.
